Headstones damaged

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information following the report of criminal damage at the City Cemetery on Friday, July 15.

Damage to a number of headstones and statues was reported after three male youths were disturbed inside the cemetery at around 9.30pm. The youths, one dressed in a grey coloured tracksuit, left the scene on foot.

Inspector Ray Wilson said: “ I am appealing to anyone with any information about this incident or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of the cemetery to contact officers at Strand Road quoting reference 1290 15/07/16. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
