Health events for men only

COOKSTOWN and Western Shores Area Network has joined with other bodies to encourage men to talk about their health and to help them access a range of services at an event in Magherafelt.

Men’s Health week will run from Monday, June 10 to Sunday, June 16 and the theme for 2013 is ‘Action Men – Turning Words into Actions’.

Males have higher death rates than women for all of the leading causes of death. Research shows that poor lifestyles are responsible for a high proportion of chronic diseases. Men are also three times more likely than women to die by suicide.
