Health Screening Days at the Grange

THE start of the year is often a good time to think about becoming healthier.

With this in mind, West Antrim UFU and the Grange Cross Community Association supported by the Northern Trust have come together to plan two health screening days on two successive Tuesdays - March 19 and 26, from 10.30am-4pm.

The ‘Farm Families Health Checks’ screening van will be in attendance in the grounds of the West Antrim UFU office and will be offering free health checks to the farming and rural community. These include blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight and body mass index (BMI) and lifestyle advice.

Doreen Bolton, Nurse Coordinator of the Farm Families Health Check programme, which is funded by DARD and the PHA, works within the Northern Trust’s Health Improvement/Community Development Service.

She said: “We are delighted to be bringing the screening van to this community event at the Grange. The health checks can be completed quickly and will offer a good indicator of your health.

“Come along and you will be seen by a qualified nurse who will also be able offer you advice on improving your health and wellbeing and signpost you on to other services if required.”

To book your 15 minute appointment, call the West Antrim UFU office on 7965 0644.
