Health trust appointment extension

A Carrickfergus man’s period of service with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust has been further extended.

Jim Moore is a non-executive director with the health body. His appointment extension was among 14 to health trusts announced by Health Minister Jim Wells from April 1 2015 to March 31 2016.

Mr Moore is professional head of Signalling and Telecoms for Northern Ireland Railways which is an operating company of Translink. He was previously operations manager at Richardson’s Fertiliser Industries.

Chair of the board of governors of a local primary school, Mr Moore is also a director of Sentinus, a registered charity promoting training in science, engineering and mathematics in schools in Northern Ireland.

Furthermore, he is chair of the Audit Committee and chair of the Endowments and Gifts Committee.

Mr Moore, who was first appointed to the Northern Trust on April 1 2007, holds no other public appointments.

The appointments of all non-executive members of the five HSC trusts carry a time commitment of one day per week and attract annual remuneration of £7,960.

The final decision on the extension of the appointments rested with the minister.
