Healthcare facilities best kept reminder

RESIDENTIAL homes, daycare centres, health centres, opticians and dental practices in Newtownabbey are being encouraged to enter the SuperValu Best Kept Health and Social Care Facility Awards before the May 28 deadline (Friday). Last year Lynwood Hostel, Ballyduff won an award.

The awards are organised by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC) as part of the overall Best Kept Awards scheme sponsored by independent retail group SuperValu. Entries will be judged from June to August and Northern Ireland’s Best Kept Healthcare & Social Care Facilities are to be acknowledged at a ceremony in September.

Judges will be looking for clean, tidy and well cared-for premises.

Doreen Muskett MBE, President of NIAC explained: “The SuperValu Best Kept Awards aim is to motivate local people and organisations to protect and improve our built and natural environment. In this category of the awards the objective is to acknowledge health and social care facilities that make a real difference to everyone who uses their services, through improvements to their premises and surrounding areas.”
