Shane Finan, who lives in Llanelli, is currently researching his family tree - in particular the relatives of his great-great grandmother, Susan Smyth.

He told the Times: “I am researching my family tree and I’d like to get in contact with my Smyth cousins.

“I’m looking for the grandchildren of Susan Smyth. She lived in Greenisland and died in 1974.

“Her obituary states that her son David, his wife Philomena and children were living in 39, Gortlane Drive at the time of her death.

“As far as I know, she didn’t have a son called David, unless this is a typo. I know that she had four sons called John, James, Joe and Brendon (died in World War Two).”

Shane is encouraging any one who can provide more information to get in touch. He can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone on 07955889027.
