Help save Ramore Head wildlife for years to come

Everyone is welcome to take part and help remove litter such as bottles, cans and plastic bags which have washed up on the shore and improve it for wildlife and people alike. Gloves and litter pickers will be provided.

Dave Wall, Living Seas officer with Ulster Wildlife, said: ”The tide of litter washing up on our shores is not just unsightly, but it can harm and even kill some of our best-loved marine wildlife who mistake it for food or get entangled in it. Worse still, marine plastics are not biodegradable and last for centuries in our oceans.

“We want people to come down to Ramore Head on 11 April and take part in an event that will not only make the area look great for visitors, but will also help save wildlife for years to come.”

Meet at the picnic benches at Ramore Head car park, Portrush, BT56 8BB. This event is not suitable for under 16s. Participants are urged to check the forecast on the day and dress suitably – wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy boots/wellies.
