Helping Action Cancer at SuperValu

THE SuperValu store in Portstewart is preparing for seven days of fundraising in aid of their community partner Action Cancer, which will mark the fourth anniversary of the local charity's Big Bus mobile service.

As part of the annual fundraising week SuperValu customers will be asked to donate loose change in a fundraising drive to keep the state-of-the-art mobile cancer screening and health promotion unit on the road. The challenge raised an amazing 17,000 last September.

In-store posters and staff T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan ‘Your Change Can Help Save Lives’ will be used to highlight the fundraising event which runs for a week from Saturday September 25 at the Portstewart SuperValu store.

Ian Elliott, manager of the Portstewart SuperValu store, said; “We are extremely proud to support Action Cancer’s Big Bus and as we approach our tenth year of partnership with the charity the commitment of local SuperValu stores to the mobile is undiminished.

“For one week we’ll be asking every single customer shopping at SuperValu to donate their loose change. Individually they may be small amounts, but enough coins will make a big difference to important Action Cancer services by keeping the wheels of the Big Bus turning.”
