Henderson Retail invest £2m. in Ballycastle

TWO retail outlets in Ballycastle have had a £2m. investment, it has been revealed this week.

Henderson Retail are behind the financial injection into two Spar stores which is designed to enhance services to the shopping public.

Part of the company's 'Investing for the Future' programme, the investment is core to the Henderson Group brand ethos.

The two stores located on the Moyle Road and Castle Street will enhance the town's economy through increased employment, improved services and by supporting local suppliers.

The two stores collectively will employ 62 people, resulting in a 20% increase, from within the local area and bring state of the art shopping facilities to the local community which will offer a broad range of products and services.

One of the new services on offer will be 'the streat' brand, recently acquired by Henderson Foodservice, which will offer tasty coffee, gorgeous donuts and tremendous treats along with a hot snack solution and fresh sandwiches made daily on site. This will sit alongside a number of locally sourced products both from within the immediate Ballycastle area as well as from across Northern Ireland.

The SPAR Moyle Road development will be complete in June and SPAR Castle Street will open in August. The stores will trade, from 7.00 am to 11pm, 7 days a week, in order to cater for the busy lifestyles of those living in the Ballycastle community.
