Herbal cannabis was found on defendant

A Lurgan man was fined £200 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for possession of herbal cannabis on August 18.

Twenty year old John McVeigh, of Lurgantarry, Lurgan, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard during a search a small bag of herbal cannabis as found on the defendant. He had one previous conviction for a drugs offence.

Deputy District Judge, Anne Marshall, said this offence happened just eight months after the first offence.

She warned McVeigh to stay off drugs or he would end up in prison.
