'Here to Help' service launched

THE 'Here to Help' volunteering service has been launched at Craigavon Area Hospital.

This new service is based in the hospital foyer, and has been set up to provide information, directions and assistance to services users and visitors.

There are 12 specially trained volunteers who will be on duty during the week, easily identifiable in ‘Here to Help’ t-shirts and fleeces.

Interim director of acute services, Dr Gillian Rankin, said: “We know that visiting a hospital can be a daunting experience, so our volunteers will make a real difference to visitors and patients.

“They are based in the main hospital foyer, beside the entrance to the outpatients department, so will be easy to find for people needing a bit of extra help.

“We very much appreciate the volunteers who have given up some of their time each week to help make a difference to others."
