Herrons Country Fried Chicken open new outlet in Magherafelt

Down-based Herrons Country Fried Chicken has opened an outlet in Magherafelt bringing the total number of premises in Northern Ireland to 18.

The popular fast food company- with its unique chicken and gravy recipes – was first established in Newcastle, Co Down in 1977 by Billy Herron, the current owner’s father and over the last 40 years has expanded to create franchises in many town throughout Northern Ireland.

The Magherafelt premises is the company’s 2nd branch opened in 2 years, having opened a takeaway and sit-in outlet at the Kennedy Centre, Belfast and a branch in Botanic Avenue in Belfast.

Five full-time and 10 part-time jobs have been created by the Magherafelt store’s franchisee adding to the 150 staff currently employed at Herrons Country Fried Chicken.

Richard Herron, managing director of Herrons Country Fried Chicken said : “We are delighted to bring Herrons Country Fried Chicken renowned recipes such as the ‘Superchip’ to Magherafelt’.

“The branch has a large menu to suit all tastes and with the popular ‘Chicken Kebab’, ‘Chicken Tenders’ and original chicken pieces and burgers all appetites can be fulfilled. Takeaway or Sit-in options as there for all customers.

The rapidly-expanding chain is hoping to open a further two new premises in Northern Ireland in the near future.

Magherfelt branch can be found on 10 Broad Street.
