High praise for village bridge

The newly refrubished bridge over the River Maine at Cullybackey is receiving widespread applause in the local community.

And among those leading the praise is North Antrim DUP Assemblyman Paul Frew who said that the completed bridge was firm evidence of how an ongoing streetscape scheme was progressing succesfully.

He said: “ Cullybackey has seen a fair amount of disruption during the streetscape scheme but Road Service have done a great job in balancing the works and allowing the village to tick over.

“I would commend the Road Service staff involved as they have always been happy to engage with the local community groups and householders to keep disruption to a minimum and iron out , where possible ,any problems along the way. Road service have also been proactive in working alongside myself and other DUP Councillors in liaising with other services and contractors like BT ,NIE and Firmus to make sure they they complete as much work as possible before the Main St is resurfaced this year .

“The Bridge looks excellent with its decorative lamps and pedestrian safety measures - well done to Road Service and the local community in general.”
