High school stages musical ‘Grease’

ALL roads lead to Ballymoney High, or should that be Rydell High, as the High stages a fantastic production of the smash hit musical “Grease.”

Produced by Miss McShane, with Mrs Brown as Musical Director and Mrs Montgomery as Choreographer, this is sure to be another resounding success for the school.

During a visit to America, Australian Sandy (Hannah Kirkpatrick) meets Danny Zuko (Brandon Lyons) at the beach and falls in love. She is heartbroken when summer ends and she has to return home. But as fate lends a hand her parents decide to stay in America and she finds herself attending the same school as Danny. But Danny at school is different from Danny at the beach. He is the leader of the T Birds; a leather clad gang and has a reputation to keep up.

He can’t be seen to love just one “chick”. The other members of the T Birds (Kurtis Thompson, Aaron McAuley, Jimmy Mariano and Adam Henry) can’t believe he’s fallen for such a “sweet girl”. Sandy is upset and seeks solace from her new friends – the Pink Ladies (Gina McBride, Sarah Louise Leighton, April Ferguson and Carrie Fleming) But her prim and proper ways do not fit in and she soon finds herself almost alone. A change must be made. Does she attempt to get her man by turning him into a jock? Or must she get rid of her Sandra Dee image? With songs such as “Grease Lightning”, and “Summer Nights” you’re sure to be dusting off your leather jackets and hunting out your bobby socks.

Performances will be in the school on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th December at 7.30pm. To find out Sandy’s fate book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are priced at Adults £6 and Concession £3 and can be booked by contacting the school on 2766 2361.
