High value thefts from building sites

Police are investigating the theft of £2,000 worth of goods during separate incidents in recent days.

Police are appealing for information regarding a burglary that occurred on the Rea Hill Road, Ballynure. It is understood this incident occurred between 7pm on March 1 and 7am on the March 2.

Detailing the incident, a police spokesperson said: “Goods to the value of approximately £1,000 were stolen from a building site.

“If you saw anything suspicious in the area, or know anything about this, please contact police on 101, quoting serial 127 02/03/17.”

In the second incident, items valuing approximately £1,000 were stolen from two vacant properties at the Cashelton Manor building site on the Upper Hightown Road.

The Times understands that the theft occurred some time between 4:40pm on March 2 and 7:30am on March 3.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Two Ariston CLAS HE system EVO gas boilers were stolen. Anyone with any information in regards to the incident, contact police on 101 and quote incident number 187 3/3/17.”
