Hijacking and robbery trial

Two men are to stand trial at Londonerry Crown Court accused of hijacking and robbery.

Daryl O’Hagan, (26), of Railway Street, Strabane, and 30-year-old Remy Daniel Moore, of Carlisle Road, are jointly charged with hijacking a Peugeot 407 on August 25, 2014.

They are further charged with robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage.

A third defendant, 24-year-old Rachel McGranaghan, of Ashmore House, is accused of two charges of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage on the same date.

O’Hagan, Moore and McGranaghan declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence on their own behalf.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley accepted there was a case for all three defendants to answer.

The trio were released on continuing bail to appear at the Crown Court for arraignment on January 6.
