Joan had been an active family woman with a full time job, who was busy with her award winning motorcycle racing before she was diagnosed.

With great spirit, determination, imagination and a positive attitude Joan has made an equally full and enjoyable life writing poetry and historical articles, making and furnishing doll’s houses, avid collecting of various artefacts, doing charity work and travelling far and wide. In fact, she never seems to have a dull moment.
