Hillsborough junction to be improved

Downshire Councillor Paul Stewart and Lagan Valley MLA Edwin Poots both welcomed the news.

They said one of the major concerns raised at a meeting with the Village Community Association and local residents in 2010 was the junction where there had been a large number of minor accidents.

“After a number of meetings with the local Section Engineer Mr McMahon, we are delighted that Roads Service have taken swift action and indeed, work was due to commence week beginning the May 14 and should be completed by the end of this month” the two representatives said.

“We know this will make a great improvement and will improve the safety of the junction for both pedestrians and vehicle users. We would like to thank the Roads Service for their time and commitment to this project.”
