Historic sex charges

A 76-year-old Lurgan man has been charged with sex offences which allegedly happened 52 years ago.

James McGuinness, River Glade Manor, appeared last Friday at Craigavon courthouse.

He was charged that between April 30, 1962, and June 10, 1965, he indecently assaulted a female. He faces seven of these charges.

McGuinness is also charged with two similar indecent assault charges, on the same female, between June 10, 1964, and June 11, 1965.

McGuinness was remanded on his own bail of £500, with the condition that he has no contact with the injured party, to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on June 4.
