Historical Society welcomes guestJennifer Sturgeon

Coleraine Historical Society's monthly talk programme continues on Tuesday January 19, with the intriguingly entitled '˜Under the Spanish Chestnut Tree'.

Guest speaker Jennifer Sturgeon explains that this is a reference to the chestnut tree outside Hezlett House, and that the talk is a history of the house, built in 1691.

The talk takes place at the new time of 7.30pm, at the new venue Sandel Centre, 6 Knocklynn Road, Coleraine.

Jennifer is a teacher of Geography and Mathematics, an examiner for A Level Geography and a National Irish tourist guide.

Thsi promises to be an interesting and informative talk about one of the best known areas of the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

Everyone is welcome to come along. The cost to non members is just £3.

Looking ahead to next month -the talk will take place on Tuesday, February 16tat 7.30pm, at the Sandel Centre venue when guest speaker – biographer, journalist and travel writer - Paul Clements will give a talk entitled ‘The Life of Richard Hayward’.
