Mr Mitchell’s book was first published in 1991, but due to a resurgence of interest in the Great War, it was updated and republished in 2008.

The book itself is a record of stories of the last remaining veterans and provides a glimpse of the suffering, hardship and bravery of this band of young men, who were know as the 10th (Derry) Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.

The Battalion would have been made up of men from Articlave, Castlerock, Coleraine and Limavady and the surrounding areas.

Mr Mitchell’s talk will commence at 8pm and anyone interested is invited to go along.
