History journal launches
The 12th edition of the Poyntzpass Local History Journal will be launched by Councillor Sharon Haughey-Grimley on Friday, November 8 at 8pm.
The venue will be the Meeting Place, Poyntzpass. The title of this year’s journal, is ‘Before I Forget...’.
The Lord Mayor of Armagh will visit the village earlier to receive his copy of the magazine. The journal has been very popular and its last edition sold well over a thousand copies. One of its more sensational articles describes the gruesome murder of Loughbrickland-born Alice McClory at the hands of her daughter’s lover! The cover recalls the glory days of ‘the dealing men’ of Poyntzpass and neighbouring areas.
