History talk for US hosts

A local man has helped give an insight into the history of Carrickfergus during a visit to the borough’s sister city of Danville.

David Robinson was selected to carry out the role of Sister Cities Cultural Ambassador to the Kentucky town earlier this year.

The opportunity was offered by Carrickfergus Borough Council as part of a sister cities exchange programme, with David travelling to America last week.

One of the first engagements for the 25-year-old was the history talk at Boyle County Public Library in Danville last Thursday.

The history graduate, who is a keen drummer with Henry Inglesby’s Fife and Drum Corps, was also due to attend an annual Civil War re-enactment during his stay.
