HMRC petition towind up Bready energy company

A petition to wind-up a Bready company behind proposals for a £26m biogas facility at Lisahally has been presented at the High Court by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

According to a notice, which has been published in the Belfast Gazette, the petition to wind up Ecoventi Technology Limited. of 195 Victoria Road, Bready, Strabane, was presented last Thursday.

It was provisionally slated for a hearing on November 20.

Early last year the company said it wanted to build the largest biogas facility in the UK at Lisahally.

Ecoventi, at the time, said 500 people were working on different aspects of the project and that it would be a flagship for all future Anaerobic Digestion developments in Europe if it got the go ahead.

The firm said it would lead to a £26m investment in Northern Ireland’s energy infrastructure.
