Hoax bomb case to be heard by judge alone

The case against a Craigavon man  accused of making hoax bomb calls has been scheduled and will now be dealt with in front of a judge  alone.

Kieran Lavery (20), whose address was  given to the court as  Meadowbrook, Craigavon, was due to appear for  arraignment last  Thursday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

He faces 16 charges of making hoax bomb calls and two of placing hoax bombs.

The offences are alleged to have happened in May and July of 2013,  and in January of this  year.

The Crown Court last Thursday heard that  the matter will now be heard at Laganside and the next court date is  September 24.
