Hockey Club islatest victim of oil thieves

AROUND £3,000 worth of diesel was stolen from a tank at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club during a break-in at the club on Thursday in the latest in a series of thefts in rural areas around Lisburn.

Thieves gained entry to two storage containers at the rear of the Comber Road property removing a chainsaw and two strimmers.

Further investigation revealed that a large quantity of diesel oil, estimated to be between £2000 and £3000 worth, had also been taken from a tank.

Police believe the items were removed by two males travelling in a large white van with twin rear wheels sometime around 1.30/2am on Thursday.
