Holly is on a roll

HOLLY McConville is on unstoppable form.

Having won Lismore’s Got Talent, performing ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie, the 12-year-old from Craigavon will progress to the final of School Stars in the Ulster Hall tonight (Thursday).

Holly also found out recently that she’d won a part in Musical Theatre For Youth’s Aladdin Junior which will be in the Waterfront for three performances on August 12 and 13.

She’ll be playing the part of Jafar’s parrot. Holly was one of 50 children chosen from 300 who auditioned. It’s an even greater achievement for Holly as 30 of those 50 are returnees.

At the recent Armagh Festival the 12-year-old Lismore pupil won three awards - Best Actress, Most Versatile Speaker and the production of Annie in which she starred got Best Production.

Holly was at the festival as part of Laura Robinson’s School of Drama.

Since the 12-year-old won 11 trophies at Banbridge Festival she’s been on something of a roll.

Just last weekend Holly and her friend Courtney Morgan finished third in the Search for a Star contest at St Anthony’s.

She was also lucky enough to meet the cast of Wicked. Local actress Rachel Tucker encouraged Holly to “follow her dream”.

She’s hoping to have a dream performance in the Ulster Hall on Thursday.

Doors are at 8pm and Holly’s family have called on as many people as possible to go along and support her.
