A very moving dimension to the devotions of Good Friday is that each year, following the service, ‘An Hour At the Cross’, between 2 and 3pm in the Cathedral, the Cathedral clergy and some parishioners visit the graves of Bishop William Alexander and his wife, Cecil Frances, in the City Cemetery where a short act of worship will be held and some flowers placed on the graves. The service will conclude with the singing of CFA’s best known hymn, ‘There is a green hill far away’. Everyone welcome to attend.

The Holy Communion will be celebrated by the Dean on Easter Day at 8.00 am. Choral Eucharist will follow at 11.00 am, followed by Choral Festival Evensong at 4 o’clock. The Holy Communion will be celebrated on Easter Monday and on Easter Tuesday at 10:30am.
