Home Start family centre officially opened

The official opening of the new Home-Start Family Centre took place on Wednesday January 28.

The Mayor, Councillor Andrew Ewing cut the ribbon to declare the brand new premises officially open.

The new Family Centre premises mean that the offices, volunteer training, Family Group and courses can take place under the one roof. The bright and spacious rooms are safe and welcoming for families, volunteers, trustees and staff.

Home-Start supports local families with young children who are dealing with challenging situations. Home-Start supports parents as they gain confidence, become more involved in the local community and support their children’s development. Last year the scheme supported 74 families and 172 children.
