Homes left with no water

Residents in Hillsborough were left without water last weekend after a pipe burst in the Dromara Road area.

It is understand that the houses surrounding the Dromara Road area were without water from 2am on Saturday to approximately 10pm on Sunday following a burst pipe in Clougher Road.

“I was able to contact Northern Ireland Water who were very helpful throughout this process. If residents have any difficulty with their water supply I would urge them to contact their local councillor immediately who can make the problem known to the appropriate authorities.”

A spokesperson for NI Water said a faulty pump had been restored at the nearby pumping station after the pipe burst.

“Some customers benefitted from the supply of emergency bottled water until supply was fully restored,” she said.

“NI Water is grateful for the patience of our customers in the area while this issue was rectified. The situation continues to be monitored.”
