Honesty wins out

AN Ardmore pensioner has spoken of his gratitude on being returned a wallet mislaid whilst on a shopping trip to a supermarket in Tullyally.

John Henry called to the Spar in Tullyally on Monday afternoon (January 11) to pick up a few shopping items. The Ardmore man was just about to get in his car outside the store when he was stopped by cashier Jonathan Curry.

The former DUP councillor was grateful to be handed his wallet, containing a substantial sum of money, which he had absent-mindedly left behind on the counter.

Mr Henry told the Sentinel he wanted to publicly thank Mr Curry for displaying such honesty.

"I was in Tullyally on Monday and called into the Spar there," said Mr Henry. "I was about to leave when the person working behind the counter came running after me."

"He said 'Excuse me, sir, but you've left you're wallet behind.' You hear so many bad news stories I just wanted to thank the person publicly for their honesty."
