Hospice coffee morning

September is the month to get together over a cup of coffee (or tea) with as many as possible all in aid of Foyle Hospice. By becoming part of Ireland’s biggest Coffee Morning you are supporting Foyle Hospice and the services provided.

Foyle hospice covers a large area of the North West and provides specialised palliative care to those terminally ill with cancer and other life limiting illnesses such as MS, Motor Neurone Disease, COPD and many more through our In Patient Unit, Day Therapy Unit and Homecare Nurses. We also provide support services to family members and loved ones.

Over a 12 month period from 2011 - 2012 the In Patient Unit had 157 admissions for an average stay of 14-21 days, the Day Therapy Unit had 988 attendances and the Homecare Specialist Nursing Team made 4018 visits to patients’ and their families or loved ones in their own homes.

Foyle Hospice depends heavily on the ongoing support of the community. The Hospice must fundraise approximately £6000 every single day of the year in order to meet the costs of continuing to provide our specialised care and support services to those who require it the most.

Throughout the month of September Coffee Morning’s are being held all over Ireland in support of local Hospice’s. The event is sponsored by Bewley’s and each host shall receive a Coffee Morning pack containing a poster, guest invitations, collection box, a leaflet on Foyle Hospice and a packet of Bewley’s Coffee. Events such as the annual Coffee Morning are vital to the Foyle Hospice fundraising calendar each year and we hope that you can enjoy getting involved for a fun morning over a cup of coffee or tea whilst supporting your local Hospice.
