Hospital estate to get ‘external maintenance’

LURGAN’S Hospital Estate is getting a spruce up.

The external maintenance scheme has been welcomed by Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson.

Attending an open meeting held in the new Mourneview Community House, Mrs Dobson was briefed by the Housing Executive as to the detail of this scheme.

“The scheme will include repairs to external guttering, downpipes and woodwork and painting of external woodwork,” said the Ulster Unionist MLA, “Also, houses in the Hospital Estate which are finished in roughcast render will be repainted. The scheme will vary from house to house and is primarily aimed at maintaining the fabric of the houses.

“I was pleased to hear that the Housing Executive intends to keep any short-term disruption during the work scheme to a minimum as the majority of the work will be to the exterior of the houses.

Residents who may experience a problem whilst work is being carried out can contact their Tenant Liaison Officer or Housing Executive Housing Officer.

“When the works have been completed the Housing Executive will be offering each tenant the opportunity to comment on the completed work and I encourage them to complete and return their customer service questionnaires. All feedback received will help in future projects and will be passed to the Site Manager.

“I would also like to commend the Housing Executive for sending out detailed information to Hospital Estate residents.”

The scheme was scheduled to begin on last week.
