LONDONDERRY firm The Duddy Group has applied for permission to build a 116 bedroom hotel and cultural events venue at its Strand Bar complex in the city centre.
The application is for “change of use and alterations to existing nightclub, restaurant and bar with five storey extension to north facing on to Strand Road and extension to east facing onto Edward Street and Great James Street to provide 116 bedroom hotel and cultural events venue.”
Meanwhile, a separate application has been lodged by the Inner City Trust to erect a glazed roof canopy over the square in the Craft Village in the city centre.
The new canopy will be located outside the soon-to-be-relocated Café del Mondo.
