How to appeal if your child has not received a school place

More than five thousand children are due to start primary school in the North Eastern region in September

“Out of those pupils, 97% received a place in their first preference school,” an Education Authority spokesperson said. “99.9% of children have now secured a school place for September. Open Enrolment officers will continue to support and help parents in obtaining a place for the small number of children yet to be placed.”

If a parent feels that a school has not applied, or incorrectly applied its criteria in refusing their child a place, they can appeal to an Independent Tribunal. Write, by 4.00 pm on Wednesday 13 May 2015, to: Clerk of Appeal Tribunal, C/o Education Authority – North Eastern Region, County Hall BT42 1HN.
