Huge cocaine and mephedrone seizure in Ballymena

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch working with officers from the Ballymena Crime Team have seized a huge haul of class A and class B drugs following the search of a house in the Ballymena area today

Suspected cocaine and mephedrone with an estimated value of around £100k was recovered. A 40 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A controlled drugs, possession of class B controlled drugs, possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs and cultivating cannabis. The man remains in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Wallace from Reactive and Organised Crime said: “ We are very pleased to have taken a large quantity of illegal drugs off the streets of Ballymena. I would urge anyone with any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with that information.”
