Human faeces found at Coleraine play park

A play park in Ballysally was closed on Thursday after human faeces was discovered on some of the play equipment.

The park, which is popular with local families was cordoned off by police and Council staff carried out a deep clean of the area.

In a statement, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council said: “Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council was made aware of the incident at Ballysally play park in which human faeces was found on the play park equipment by Council staff checking the area.

“The Police Service of Northern Ireland were contacted and the area was closed off from public access.

“Following this, a deep clean was carried out by Council staff before the play park reopened to the public.

“Staff worked as quickly as possible to minimise the disruption to the local residents.”
