‘I think the important thing is to improve our shared spaces- Sinclair

Newly elected Alliance councillor Paul Sinclair believes his home area vote helped secure him a seat.

The first-time Knockagh candidate polled 479 first preference votes and though short of the 937 quota, was deemed elected after the ninth count on a total of 892.

Speaking to the TIMES at the count centre, he said: “I live in Greenisland and I think I got a lot of votes from that area. I think the important thing is to improve our shared spaces, to keep our neighbourhoods clean and tidy and try and get some investment in local play parks.”
