Ice hockey starlet is part of elite team

been voted onto the Nekoti Sherwood Ambassador Programme by friends, family and team-mates and they travelled to England to collect their sponsored equipment.

Last week Jamie’s dad Chris Scott took them to meet the Sherwood team at Royal Wootton Bassett and collect their sponsored equipment. They spent Monday morning there and were measured for their new equipment and had a photoshoot for Sherwood Facebook page and other advertising.

Chris has received equipment which is the professional specification as used by the NHL goalies, and has already make some

good saves with his new glove at training!

Whilst there, Jamie’s dad had arranged for them to train with the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey team, and were given the opportunity of a training session at the Okanagen Ice Hockey School also in Swindon.

The boys are now part of an elite team of less than 100 ambassadors worldwide, which include top names from the NHL league in USA including Chris’s favourite team goalie, Craig Anderson from the Ottawa Senators, and Martin Brodeur from New Jersey Devils.

The boys will receive encouragement and updates from the professional ambassadors and Sherwood will continue over the next few years to support both boys to help with their ice hockey career.

The under 16s Junior Giants took off three weeks ago on a long 26 hour round trip to Inverness for their first ever Scottish league game and after a journey of 10 hours took to the ice. After a shaky start the team settled down and the game was end to end from start to finish.

Just on the last second of the game Chris made a terrific pad save and at the final buzzer the Junior Giants won their first game 7-6!

Man of the Match was Stephen Eccles who scored a magnificient 5 out of the 7 Junior goals.
