Ida will be dearly missed by her family

IT is with deep regret that the residents of Banbridge and indeed much further afield learned of the passing of Mrs Ida Caroline Hanna of 14 Willow Avenue, Banbridge on March 16, which took place at The Southern Area Hospice.

She was the dearly loved wife of Cyril and devoted mother of Paul. Formerly Miss Ida Ferguson from Sheeptown in Newry, she came to Banbridge some 23 years ago with her husband and they made their home here.

Both Cyril and Ida sustained a great loss some 10 years ago following the passing of their dearly beloved daughter Caroline but they continued their life with Christian fortitude.

They joined the congregation of Scarva Street Presbyterian Church but her life was mainly centred around her home and family and indeed it is there that her passing will be mostly felt. She is survived by her husband Cyril, son Paul, daughter-in-law Annette, son-in-law Kenny, grandchildren Nicola, Wendy, Alison, Stephen and Rachel.

To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place privately from her home for a service in Scarva Street Presbyterian Church at which her minister the Rev. Andrew Watson was assisted by Mr. Seamus Burke and the Deaconess Miss Kathleen Spence.

The hymns ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Abide with Me’ were sung. Mr Tom Haire presided at the organ. The interment took place in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co.
