Ignored red light

A BALLYCASTLE man has been fined after he drove through a red light in the town.

Frederick McMullan (31) of Fogarty Crescent represented himself at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The court was told police observed McMullan - who is currently unemployed - drive through a red traffic light at the Cushendall Road on October 6 last year.

McMullan told District Judge Richard Wilson: “I apologise for my actions and it won’t happen again.”

He was fined 100 and had three penalty points endorsed on his driving licence.
