Improvements at Craig's Dolmen welcomed - McKay

RASHARKIN Sinn Féin representative Daithí McKay MLA has welcomed recommendations from the Environment Agency concerning Craig's Dolmen, a passage tomb located just outside Rasharkin.

Mr McKay said: “After visiting Craig’s Dolmen whilst out walking last year I wrote to council concerning the lack of information signage at the site and the need for the site to be cleaned up.

“I have since been in contact with both the Environment minister and the Environment Agency concerning this piece of local heritage.

“A number of recommendations have since been made by the Agency regarding the site. These include the removal of the green pole which previously held the information panel; the erection of a new information panel and other measures to improve the look of the site.

“A replacement panel at Craig’s Dolmen has been placed on the Agency’s priorities list and I will continue to lobby to have this erected as soon as possible”.
