In court a day after his release

Kevin Kearns, Brookeville Crescent, Banbridge, admitted unlawful possession of cannabis and Diazepam on July 3 last year.

His solicitor said he had just been released from custody the day before the court sitting.

She explained that Kearns had a significant record. This was his first experience of custody and has had some effect on him.

Deputy District Judge, Mr Liam McStay, adjourned sentencing until March 24 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
