The traditional Remembrance Sunday service was led by Reverend Canon John Merrick and the William King Memorial Flute Band led the parade.

Among those who laid a wreath at the Wreath Laying Ceremony were Dr Angela Garvey, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for the City of Londonderry, Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jim McKeever and Chelsea pensioner Walter Swann.

Also in attendance were Cynthia Armstrong, Valerie Moore, Sandra Hepburn, Meta Watson, Kay Miller and Muriel Warnett, of Mountjoy W.L.O.L. 29, who placed a wreath at the memorial in memory of Laura Gailey, to only female named on the memorial. The group will travel to place a headstone on her unmarked grave in Liverpool on the 24th of March next year, the 100th anniversary of her death.
