Security remained tight at the city’s count centre in Templemore Sports Complex which was fitted out with airport scanners last night.
The count passed off peacefully with no disturbances with the last results declared at 5 a.m.

Hide AdTopping the vote again in Foyle was the SDLP’s Mark Durkan who polled 17,225 votes, increasing his vote by 803.
Coming in second was Sinn Fein’s Gearóid Ó hEára 11,679 votes increasing his party’s vote in Foyle by 419 since 2010.
Meanwhile the DUP’s vote increased by 84 with Gary Middleton MLA accumulating 4573 votes.
Julia Kee of the UUP polled 1226 votes, David Hawthorne of Alliance 835, Kyle Thompson of UKIP 832 and Hamish Badenoch of the Conservatives 132.
