Incident at hospital

A 22-year-old man who admitted disorderly behaviour in Altnagelvin Hospital has been warned he could face a jail term.

Thomas Patrick Edward Kelly, of Iniscairn Gardens, pleaded guilty to the charge of disorderly behaviour relating to an incident on January 19, last.

Adjourning sentencing for a probation pre-sentence report, district Judge Barney McElholm said: "The starting point for disorderly in the hospital is an immediate custodial sentence.

"We will have to see whether a full probation report will dissuade me from imposing that."

He warned Kelly that if he did not attend all appointments with probation, "I will sentence you without a report and that will mean an immediate custodial sentence".

Kelly was released on continuing bail to appear in court again on March 25.
