Incredible £12,964 for cancer

Cancer Research Ballymoney Committee are delighted to announce that a massive £12,964 has been donated towards Cancer Research UK, as a result of the recent doorstep collection (£6115) and street collection (£6849) at the Parade of Bands and vintage vehicles on Saturday 1st August.

The organising Committee wish to thank the members of the local Old Vehicle Clubs which took part in the cavalcade prior to the Band Parade. Thanks to Loughans Accordian Band, Eden and their donation prior to the parade: Killycoogan Ind, Cahaney, Dunloy, Vow, Craiganee, Glenkeen, Carryduff, Drumaheagles, Milltown, Tullaghans, Topp Pipe, Dunaghy Ind, Ballymaconnelly, Dervock, Armoy Auld boys, Lisnagrot and Ballyrashane. Committee Chairman Mervyn Ferris said: “This is a fantastic response by the public in support of the work of Cancer Research and is most remarkable in the light of other charitable collections and band parades in previous weeks. I would like to commend all the collectors who braved the elements, ensuring the success of our annual fundraiser. Thanks to the staff at Fuse FM for the Coffee Morning raising the amount of £200. Thanks go to the Parade Marshals, the PSNI, St John Ambulance, the Agricultural Committee for use of the Showground and the Borough street cleansing workforce.”
