Indecency allegations may involve ‘192,000’ images

The comment was made as the case involving Sean Gerard O’Conaill (38), whose address was given as Greenhill Road, was briefly mentioned at a sitting of the court in Coleraine last Wednesday morning.

Since the case first came to court in recent months, Mr O’Conaill has so far faced three charges referring to July 1 and July 2, 2011.

It is alleged he had in his possession an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children, contrary to the Criminal Justice Order; possession of an extreme pornographic image, contrary to the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act; and possession of an image of a child which was of such a nature as prohibited by the Coroners and Justice Act.

The case involving Mr O’Conail, who is on continuing bail, was adjourned to October.
