Influx of businesses reported in city

The Council’s Environmental Health Department’s has reported an influx of new businesses as a result of City of Culture with this continuing throughout Music City.

That’s according to the Council’s Food Service Plan 2014/15, which will be presented to the Environmental Services Committee tomorrow (Thursday, October 9).

“We had an influx of new businesses opening up during this period, with 20 anticipated and 92 received and inspected,” the report says. “This increase has most likely been due to the impact of City of Culture. This figure has increased with the roll out of the year of Culture and the Legacy of CoC-Music City 2014, so we anticipate up to 90-100 new businesses this year, this has been included in the plan for 2014/15.”
