DLA will be replaced by Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for those aged 16-64 from this autumn.

The sessions have been organised by the Social Security Agency, in conjunction with Disability Action and advisers will be available on the day to offer advice and support.

Minister Nelson McCausland said: “It’s important that local people understand how this proposed change to DLA may impact them and importantly, I am keen to ensure that no one is left in the dark over potential changes to their benefit. I would encourage anyone interested to come along and take the opportunity to ask questions.”

Disability Action spokesperson, Karen Hall said: “We have been getting lots of enquiries about the proposed changes to DLA and we want to ensure that people are aware of what is happening and the type of support that is available. I would encourage anyone with an interest to come along and find out more.”
